Vortex Temporum on Reykjav�k Arts Festival 2010

Vortex Temporum by G�rard Grisey will be heard for the first time in Iceland on Reykjav�k Arts Festival 2010, performed by The Formalist Quartet from Los Angeles, Brian Walsh (clarinet), Berglind Mar�a T�masd�ttir (flute) and Tinna Thorsteinsd�ttir (piano). Also the premiere of a work by Atli Ing�lfsson, written for the occasion and performances of string quartets by �lfar Ingi Haraldsson and Nicholas Deyoe. The Icelandic Opera, June 4th at 8 pm. Wold premiere of Sonorities II (1968) by Magn�s Bl�ndal

An exciting program at this year�s Raflost Festival of Electronic Arts! A performance of piano works Sonorities I-III (1963-1972) by pioneer Magn�s Bl�ndal J�hannsson. Sonorities II from 1968 will be world premiered in this concert. Other works on the program are Kalimba for toy piano and electronics (2005) by Karlheinz Essl and premieres of works by two young composers, Gudmundur Steinn Gunnarsson and Jesper Pedersen. After the concert the film Surtur fer sunnan (1965) will be shown by �svaldur Knudsen about the volcanic eruption and formation of the island Surtsey, with music by Magn�s which is based on the volcano sounds. Solo recital on May 19th in S�lvh�ll Concert Hall, Iceland Academy of the Arts at 8 pm

Harfgreni (for the naturally tempered one string piano) by Gudmundur Steinn Gunnarsson will be premiered, a.o. works, on Friday night the 16th at a concert in Skemmtih�sid, Lauf�svegur 22 in Reykjav�k at 8 pm.
