Wold premiere of Sonorities II (1968) by Magnús Blöndal

An exciting program at this year´s Raflost Festival of Electronic Arts! A performance of piano works Sonorities I-III (1963-1972) by pioneer Magnús Blöndal Jóhannsson. Sonorities II from 1968 will be world premiered in this concert. Other works on the program are Kalimba for toy piano and electronics (2005) by Karlheinz Essl and premieres of works by two young composers, Gudmundur Steinn Gunnarsson and Jesper Pedersen. After the concert the film Surtur fer sunnan (1965) will be shown by Ósvaldur Knudsen about the volcanic eruption and formation of the island Surtsey, with music by Magnús which is based on the volcano sounds. Solo recital on May 19th in Sölvhóll Concert Hall, Iceland Academy of the Arts at 8 pm
